Fighting the Good Fight!!
Many people may wonder why I am so passionate about fitness and life. My colleagues have witnessed me many a time relentlessly pushing myself, and then turning around and sharing my knowledge and experience with those who want to learn more. We are given this incredible body and mind to sculpt them both into something amazing!! Never take for granted what God has given you, rather turn it into something awesome. I think many of us forget how lucky we are to truly have control of our destiny due to a sound mind and body, not taking into consideration the people who have to fight everyday just to survive.
I love to read Sports Illustrated, it is a great magazine, oftentimes it has very motivational stories. I read one recently about a wrestling coach, Mike Powell who was diagnosed with polymyositis (a skeletal muscle disease that weakens ones muscles quite severely). Prior to succumbing to the disease Mike could perform 50-60 pull-ups, now only 2-3 is common. Wrestling with his team is something he did all the time, unfortunately if performed now, it leads to great physical pain. Yet he still fights onward, fighting the good fight; not only coaching his team to new championship titles, but also teaching the same athletes how to be better men.
We owe it to ourselves to put forth 100% of our energy everyday with no regrets. So when you are working out, don’t take it for granted, give your last, give your all! Do this with the rest of your life and I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised. Tell yourself you can – and you will! Remember the 3 RULES: Live your Life, make a positive impact, and WORKOUT LIKE AN ANIMAL!!!
